More than six months after losing his anchor chair on NBC Nightly News, Brian Williams will return to the airwaves. Williams, who was suspended after it came to light he had embellished reporting experiences, will debut in a new role on MSNBC on Tuesday, September 22, the day Pope Francis is scheduled to visit the U.S., to anchor live breaking news. MSNBC is in the midst of schedule changes and says Williams will not have a dedicated hour on its new lineup.

It’s a greenlight from AMC for Preacher, the character-driven comic book adaptation from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) that will premiere in mid-2016. Rogen directed the pilot, which stars Dominic Cooper and is based on the Vertigo series by Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon, and written by Catlin. The plot involves preacher who struggles with his parish and his relationship with God. Rogen, Goldberg and James Weaver are exec producing under their Point Grey umbrella; Neal Moritz, Vivian Cannon and Ori Marmur are exec producing for Original Film.

The envelopes have been opened for the Television Academy’s juried Emmy Awards, which are judged by peers in each category and presented in advance of the televised Primetime Emmys. Among the winners, Taylor Swift picked up an Emmy for AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience, late-night funnymen dominated the Social TV Experience category with wins for Comedy Central’s @midnight With Chris Hardwick and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Cartoon Network dominated in Outstanding Achievement in Animation with four of the seven winners.

ABC Family is hitting the runway for a two-hour documentary, Baring It All: Inside New York Fashion Week. The doc, which began shooting this week, will offer behind-the-scenes access to the tastemakers behind one of the fashion industry’s biggest events of the year.
