is not picking up Hannibal for season four – but no hard feelings from series creator Bryan Fuller. “NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers,” said Fuller. “Hannibal is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer, but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.”

NBC announced its fall lineup, starting Thursday, September 10 with NFL’s annual kick-off game, ahead of the start of Sunday Night Football on September 13. Variety show Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris launches Tuesday, September 15, after the finale of America’s Got Talent. The Voice arrives for the official opening of the new season, Monday, September 21, leading into Blindspot. The Mysteries of Laura launches its sophomore season Wednesday, September 23, ahead of the two-hour premiere of Law & Order: SVU. Chicago PD takes up its 10p slot the following week. Thursday, September 24 brings Heroes Reborn, The Blacklist and The Player. Comedies Undateable and freshman People Are Talking bow Friday, October 30; Chicago Med picks up the rear Tuesday, November 10 at 10p, moving to 9p the following week.

“Bombshell,” the show-within-a-show on canceled NBC cult drama Smash, is being developed as a stage production. “There is still a lot of love for Smash and a rabid fan base out there,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment. “We’re thrilled to be able to keep the dream alive.” Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, exec producers on the series, will lead development of the stage project. The decision follows a one-night-only concert in NYC earlier this month.

ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud got off to a strong start, ranking as Sunday’s number one show in total viewers (8.5 million) and among A18-49 (2.4/10). The game show built from its first to second half hour, according to early numbers, clobbering the year-ago season premiere of Wipeout (1.0). Number two for the night was the net’s BattleBots at 9p, which debuted to 5.4 million viewers and 1.9/7 in the demo, up 27 percent from year-ago Rising Star. Both shows were promoted during the net’s high-scoring NBA Finals.
