Don’t rule out a television return for David Letterman, leaving CBS’s Late Show on May 20 after 22 years. Might he be back on the small screen soon? “It just depends on the number of bridges I’ve burned,” Letterman told the NY Times. “Jane Pauley is now on the CBS Sunday Morning Show. Perfect fit…So maybe one day, something of that level will happen to me.”

HGTV delivered its best April ratings ever, averaging a .54 P25-54 rating in prime and .48 P25-54 rating on weekends.The net had its best prime time ratings growth year over year at 15 percent, ranking number 7 among P25-54 in prime and second among W25-54 in prime. Its weekend rating was up 4 percent year over year.

ABC’s Dancing With the Stars anniversary special Tuesday delivered a 1.7/6 rating, up 30 percent versus last week’s finales of Fresh Off the Boat and Repeat After Me, but 15 percent off Monday’s regular show. Up against the hoofers, NBC’s The Voice was down four tenths, to 2.2/8, but still led the night in the demo.
