The Academy of Country Music Awards delivered its largest audience since 1998, according to Nielsen preliminary Live+SD ratings for Sunday. The CBS special presentation was first in viewers (15.77 million), A25-54 (4.6/12), A18-49 (3.6/11) and A18-34 (2.6/09). It was the first time ACMs were broadcast in the 11-11:30p time period.

HBO chose 4/20 to announce that web series High Maintenance, about a weed dealer with neurotic clients, is going linear. HBO greenlit six episodes of the comedy from 30 Rock casting director Katja Blichfeld and husband Ben Sinclair, who stars in the show; the existing 19 episodes will be available later this year.

COZI TV signed its first brand ambassador: Antonio Fargas, best remembered as Huggy Bear from Starsky & Hutch. Fargas will star in musical promos and host other projects for the net. “We are thrilled to have Antonio be part of the COZI TV family,” said Diane Petzke, director of programming and promotion. “Antonio’s career embodies our programming philosophy and the warm, inviting and laid-back attitude of our network.”

Horror-meister Wes Craven inked a first-look deal with Universal Cable Productions to develop television adaptations of his 1991 movie, The People Under the Stairs, and Daryl Gregory novel We Are All Completely Fine for Syfy. Craven is also exec producing a TV adaptation of Scream, on deck at MTV.
