Time magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people included a diverse list from the world of television, including Lorne Michaels, Kim Kardashian, John Oliver, Lee Daniels, Laverne Cox, Jorge Ramos, Kevin Hart, Julianna Margulies and Jill Soloway. Of Ramos, a news anchor on both Fusion and Univision, CNN’s Christiane Amanpour said, he “knows he has a voice and is not afraid to use it.” So does Kardashian, points out Martha Stewart, at least to amass an audience. “She has 29 million followers on Instagram and 31 followers on Twitter, and her E! show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians is considered appointment TV,” noted the domestic doyenne.

Nathan Fillion has re-upped with Castle for an eighth season, pending an official pickup by ABC, but showrunner David Amann, who took the reins last year from Andrew Marlowe, will not be back. Fillion’s co-star, Stana Katic, has not yet re-signed with the detective show, airing its season finale Monday, May 11 at 10p.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly said he was “caught by surprise” by reports in February accusing him of misrepresenting events during the Falklands War. “I was an idiot for not being prepared for it before a presidential election,” O’Reilly told the LA Times. As for Brian Williams, in the midst of a six-month suspension for misreporting, O’Reilly predicts a return for NBC Nightly News anchor. “America is a forgiving country,” said O’Reilly. “The pundits may not be, and the ideologues may not be. But the folks are…You find a guy with recognition and talent, you find a place for him.”

HBO gave a series order to Sarah Jessica Parker comedy Divorce, about the uncoupling of a husband and wife played by Parker and Thomas Haden Church (Wings). Parker will exec produce through her Pretty Matches Productions. Aaron Kaplan, Paul Simms and Alison Benson will also exec produce, with Sharon Horgan, who wrote the script, serving as showrunner.
