Saturday Night Live alums Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig filmed a Lifetime movie about a couple whose plans to adopt a baby go awry. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news about the secret project, exec produced by Ferrell (apparently a fan of Lifetime movies) and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions. A Deadly Adoption, expected to debut in early summer, is described as “campy and fun and a contemporary wink at the genre.”

TV One viewers get three chances to watch the 30th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards – including Michelle Williams performing with former Destiny’s Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Beyonce. The show airs back-to-back at 6p, 8p and 10p on Sunday, April 5, part of the net’s effort to “encourage viewers to spend part of their Easter weekend with TV One,” said D’Angela Proctor, SVP programming and production.

Fred Armisen (Portlandia) will host the Peabody Awards ceremony on May 31, in an event moved from lunchtime to evening and complete with red carpet. Winners, for excellence in storytelling, will be announced in four stages, including one on Good Morning America; the evening ceremony airs in primetime on Pivot. “The changes better represent what the awards are and have been,” said Jeffrey P. Jones, director of the George Foster Peabody Awards at the University of Georgia.

Looks like well-known germaphobe Howie Mandel will be shaking hands on season ten of America’s Got Talent. At NBCU’s summer press tour on Thursday, Mandel said that while he’d put his therapist in a “whole new tax bracket” dealing with his OCD, it took all of five minutes for one of the upcoming season’s contestants to hypnotize him into “touching things I never touched before.” New season launches May 26 on NBC.
