HBO confirmed Rachel McAdams (The Notebook) will star opposite Colin Farrell (Winter’s Tale) and Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers) in season two of True Detective. Also onboard: Kelly Reilly (Black Box) and Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights). Production begins this fall in California.

Opposite two old football rivals battling it out in a close match on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, the American Music Awards dipped from last year’s highs in total viewers (11.6 million from 12.9 million) and A18-49 ratings (3.8 from 4.6). Nevertheless, it was enough to hand ABC its biggest Sunday night since the Oscars on March 2.
