AMC has ordered a pilot episode of a companion series for monster hit The Walking Dead, set in a different location with a new cast of characters. Joan Rivers passed away September 4. The pioneering 81-year-old comedian and Fashion Police host had been hospitalized for eight days, after going into cardiac arrest during an August 28 medical procedure. “My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh,” said her daughter and Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? co-star, Melissa Rivers. “Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.” Scott Sternberg, Executive Producer with Joan and Melissa on the web series In Bed With Joan told Cynopsis, “I learned so much from Joan each and every week. She treated everyone like they were a king or queen and she never stopped giving it her all, no matter what. She is by far one of the greatest people I ever knew.
