Saturday Night Live writer and The Daily Show correspondent Michael Che will go in front of the SNL cameras as co-anchor of its “Weekend Update” segments, alongside Colin Jost. He replaces Cecily Strong, who remains onboard as a regular. As for possible viewer backlash over the move, “No point in being angry or sad for me for something I’m genuinely happy about!” posted Strong on Instagram. “Unless you are a person who just enjoys being angry or sad.” Season 40 of the NBC sketch comedy premieres September 27.
