Elizabeth Vargas has checked herself back into a recovery center, the 20/20 co-anchor revealed in a statement. “As so many other recovering alcoholics know, overcoming the disease can be a long and incredibly difficult process,” said Vargas, who entered a treatment facility in 2013. “I feel I have let myself, my co-workers and most importantly my family down and for that I am ashamed and sorry. I am committed to battling and addressing this debilitating disease.” Said ABC, “We stand squarely behind her…and we look forward to having her back at ABC News when she feels ready to return.”

A video shot by a Ferguson, MO resident aired on CNN’s New Day Monday, purportedly showing the aftermath of the Michael Brown shooting. The unarmed black teenager, shot and killed by a police officer August 9, is seen lying dead in the street. The woman taking the video, Piaget Crenshaw, told CNN, “The fact that he got shot in the face, it was something that clicked in me like, no somebody else needs to see this, this isn’t right.” Crenshaw said she waited to release the video out of concern for her safety.

It will be hard to miss NBC’s The Blacklist in the coming weeks. Images of star James Spader, in character as criminal mastermind Red Reddington, will stare out from mock covers on the back of 10 magazines (Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and the New Yorker among them), and on the front cover of Playboy. Also part of the comprehensive effort: billboards, wallscapes and a roundup of Red one-liners set to AC/DC classic “Back in Black” in heavy rotation on NBC and NBCUniversal cable nets. “The size and scope of this campaign speak to both the importance of the series to NBC and the creative ways in which we can get that message out,” said Len Fogge, president of marketing and digital for NBC Entertainment. Season two of the drama debuts Monday, September 22 at 10p.

Show follows Nick and Drew Lachey (98 Degrees) as they open a bar in their hometown of Cincinnati. Leftfield Entertainment is producing.
