British actor/comedian James Corden is in serious contention for Craig Ferguson‘s job as host of CBS‘s The Late Late Show, according to sources. No stranger to performing in front of an audience, Corden won a 2012 Tony for his performance in One Man, Two Guvnors. Ferguson announced in April that he’d be leaving his late night hosting gig when his contract expires in December; The Wrap was first to post the news of his possible replacement.

As far as the Golden Globes are concerned, a mini-series (now called limited series) is any show with plot and characters confined to one season, no matter how many episodes air, per a Hollywood Foreign Press Association rules revision. The distinction has been an issue for HBO‘s True Detective, up for an Emmy in the Outstanding drama category despite a complete overhaul in cast and storyline season to season. Deadline for submissions for the 2015 Globes is October 31; nominations will be announced December 11. Show airs Sunday, January 11 on NBC.
