Syfy‘s Sharknado 2: The Second One delivered 3.9 million total viewers and 1.6 million A18-49 on Wednesday, up 183 percent in total viewers and up 190 percent in the demo from the original. The (ahem) drama also delivered one billion estimated impressions for Sharknado Twitter conversations, and held all top 10 trending topics in the U.S. Next airings: Saturday, August 2 at 7p and Sunday, August 3 at 9p.

The 2014 Governors Award will be given posthumously to a pioneer in the casting industry, Marion Doughtery, during the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday, August 16. Ceremony will air on FXM Sunday, August 24 at 8p and 10p. Dougherty, who died in 2011, was the subject of HBO documentary Casting By.

Univision stations ranked number one in primetime among A18-49 in LA, New York, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento during the July sweep. Since its July premiere, Mi Corazon Es Tuyo is averaging 3.6 million total viewers 2+, 1.8 million A18-49 and 831,000 A18-34. The net reports it’s also drawing the youngest viewers in network primetime television, with a median age of 39.

Emmy-winning producer Robert Halmi Sr. died July 30. He was 90. Halmi produced over 200 movies and mini-series for television, including The Odyssey, Crime & Punishment, Animal Farm and Streets of Laredo, amassing 136 Emmy Awards for his projects.

Oscar-winning makeup artist Richard Emerson “Dick” Smith died July 30. He was 92. In addition to numerous films including Midnight Cowboy, The Deer Hunter and Scanners, “The Godfather of Makeup” worked on Dark Shadows, and won an Emmy for 1967 TV-movie Mark Twain Tonight!.
