Late Show with Stephen Colbert is staying put in New York and will continue broadcasting from the Ed Sullivan Theater. New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Leslie Moonves, President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Corporation, announced that the agreement includes a commitment by CBS for approximately 200 New York-based jobs to support the daily program’s year-round production schedule. “New York has long been an international entertainment leader, and with this commitment from CBS we are beginning the next chapter in that proud history,” said Cuomo.

Whitney Houston‘s mother, Cissy Houston, is adamantly against the planned Lifetime biopic about her superstar daughter. She released a statement to Entertainment Tonight, claiming that no one connected with the movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby Brown. “We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please, please let her rest,” said Houston.

Asylum Entertainment has closed a multi-year, overall production deal with Ashley Tisdale and Blondie Girl Productions banner. Ashley and her sister Jennifer Tisdale will serve as producers to create and develop scripted and unscripted content for Asylum; they’ll be focusing on family and young adult projects aimed at their devoted fan base.

Syfy has partnered with Nick Cannon‘s NCredible Entertainment to develop a weekly, one-hour sci-fi/fantasy improv series. The show will be taped in front of a live audience and feature two teams battling for the biggest laughs to win points and prizes. The “home” team, a group of nationally known comedians, will compete against a different improv squad each week in various sci-fi/fantasy related sketches each week.

Fresh off the biting adventures of Discovery’s “Shark Week” comes Hub Network’s celebration of a furrier creature: dogs. Starting Sunday, August 17 through Friday, August 22, the network is bringing man’s best friend on air during “Bark Week.” The canine programming features Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest, It’s Me or the Dog, Bad Dog! and Too Cute! There will also be a different dog-themed family movie every night, including Cats & Dogs, 101 Dalmatians, 102 Dalmatians, Snow Buddies, Good Boy and Scooby-Doo.
