FXX is making the most of its landmark The Simpsons deal. Starting Tuesday, September 2, the animated comedy will air in fringe, primetime and late-night dayparts on weekdays and weekends, with themed mini-marathons from 4p-8p leading into Sunday’s 8p broadcast on Fox. FXX is also launching “Simpsons World,” featuring branded content through SimpsonsWorld.com and handheld/connected devices via FXNow, in October; viewers will be able to access every episode, and curate personalized playlists. “Our goal was to create the deepest digital archive of any show ever,” said FX president of marketing and on-air promotions Stephanie Gibbons. And as previously announced, the net will air 25 seasons – 522 episodes – of the animated comedy in a row, 24 hours a day for 12 days starting Thursday, August 21.

ABC correspondent Paula Faris is joining the Good Morning America Weekend anchor team, replacing Bianna Golodryga, announced ABC News president James Goldston in a memo to staff. Golodryga is leaving to join Yahoo as news and finance anchor – but it’s not goodbye forever. “Because of our great partnership with Yahoo!, she will continue to appear on our air and will contribute frequent reports to the Yahoo-ABC News Network,” said Goldston.

Netflix reported that total streaming members went over the 50 million mark, and U.S. members topped 36 million, up 570,000 from March. In a letter to shareholders, the video streaming company also expressed its determination to keep Internet service providers from “holding our joint customers hostage with poor performance to extract payments from us, other Internet firms, and other Internet transit suppliers.”

Fargo is coming back to FX for a second installment with a new cast, a new time period and a new “true crime” story. Not changing? Exec producer and writer Noah Hawley. Count John Landgraf a fan. “Noah’s audacious, bordering on hubristic riff on my favorite Coen brothers film earned 18 Emmy nominations – the most for a single program in our history,” said the CEO of FX Networks & FX Productions in making the announcement. “Fargo was nothing short of breathtaking.”

Also back on FX: Louie. The Louis C.K. observational comedy will have a seven-episode season five, slated for a spring 2015 premiere. The season two debut of CBS‘s Under the Dome had a greater Live+7 playback lift in viewers and A25-54 than the show’s premiere a year ago, according to Nielsen L7 ratings for Monday, June 30. The drama added 4.6 million viewers (up 49 percent, versus a 31 percent lift in 2013) and a 61 percent ratings bump in the demo (to 4.5, versus a 36 percent lift in 2013).

ABC singing competition Rising Star took a dip Sunday, according to early Nielsens, averaging 1.0 among A18-49 for a series low. CBS‘s Big Brother was tops for the night with a 2.1 in the demo, down one tenth from last week. In total viewers, CBS’s 60 Minutes was first in broadcast with 7.7 million.
