CBS is taking its sweet time launching its 2014-2015 season. The net kicks things off with Thursday Night Football on September 11, scattering premiere dates throughout the weeks leading up to the week of October 27, when 2 Broke Girls returns Monday at 8p and the net’s Big Bang Theory-led Thursday entertainment lineup returns (after Bang’s Monday, September 22 debut with back-to-back episodes). “The addition of Thursday Night Football provides the flexibility to strategically roll out our fall season in multiple waves, maximizing promotional platforms and scheduling opportunities to give our new and returning series the best possible launch,” said Nina Tassler, chairman, CBS Entertainment.

Joan Lunden revealed on ABC‘s Good Morning America Tuesday that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer. The former GMA co-host, 63, told breast cancer survivor Robin Roberts that she has started chemo and will undergo surgery and radiation, and is expected to make a full recovery. Lunden left the morning show after 17 years in 1997 and became a health advocate.

Old Navy‘s annual flip-flops-for-$1 event will get a boost from a skit on ABC‘s Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, June 26, reports AdAge. The retailer, which recently teamed with Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) for spots that made a splash online, is also giving away 9000 flip-flops in NYC and LA vending machines to consumers who tweet a code. “In order to be relevant we need to be part of the cultural conversation,” Old Navy CMO Ivan Wicksteed told AdAge.

Bravo was the number one cable entertainment net at 8p Sunday among P18-49 and P25-54, and ranked number two among total viewers. The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding delivered 2.6 million total viewers, and was the top unscripted cable entertainment telecast of the day among P25-54 (over 1.4 million). The reality show’s season is averaging over 1.2 million P18-49, nearly 1.4 million 25-54 and over 2.4 million total viewers, according to Nielsen.
