CBS is taking a pass on How I Met Your Mother spin-off, How I Met Your Dad, said CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler Wednesday morning. Facing a deadline for the 20th Century Television project, “There were elements in the pilot that didn’t work,” explained the exec. “I’m heartsick. We love this brand and we love the producers but it didn’t work out.”

CBS released its 2014-2015 primetime schedule, including five series launching in the fall, as well as NFL Thursday Night Football. Monday’s two-hour comedy block has been chopped to one, as new drama Scorpion slips into the 9p slot. NCIS: Los Angeles moves to Mondays at 10p, and The Amazing Race trots to Fridays at 8p. Three current series are being held until midseason: Mike & Molly, The Mentalist and Undercover Boss.

TBS renewed Conan through 2018. While the late-night show averages just 862,00 viewers in Live+7, the net cites A18-34 ratings that beat The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Chelsea Lately, and the host Conan O’Brien’s almost 10-plus million Twitter followers. Conan airs at 11p.

Investigation Discovery‘s Cry Wolfe, featuring episodes inspired by the case files of private investigator Brian Wolfe, premieres Tuesday, June 3 with back-to-back episodes. “Cry Wolfe is a genre-expanding program,” said Henry Schleiff, group president of ID, Destination America, AHC and Discovery Fit & Health, “truly a unique hybrid of reality and procedural crime programming.”

Bounce TV topped Nielsen’s Time Spent Viewing chart for the April ratings period, for A18-49. Viewers spent more time (7 hr. 53 min.) watching Bounce than any other broadcast or ad-supported cable net. Five minutes behind Bounce was Investigation Discovery, followed by NBC (7 hrs. 6 min.), ABC (6 hrs. 53 min.) and CBS (6 hrs. 16 min.).
