Fox announced its fall schedule, and there are big changes: Gotham takes over Mondays at 8p; Utopia leads the Tuesday lineup; Hell’s Kitchen moves from Thursdays to Wednesdays; Bones shifts from Mondays to Thursdays; Utopia airs a second weekly installment Fridays at 9p, and two live-action comedies, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Mulaney, will be sprinkled into to Sunday’s once animation-dominated lineup. Missing from Fox’s fall line-up? The final season of Glee. Fox Broadcasting Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly told reporters Monday the move gives producers more time to craft the series ending, and allows all episodes to air in a row. “We sat down creatively and heard where it was going and we thought that there was a creative, compelling reason to do it that way,” explained the exec.

And Fox’s American Idol is getting a trim. Reilly said the singing competition, which has aired two nights a week in the past, will likely “end up being a two-hour show on one night through most of its run.” Season 14 launches midseason. “It’s not about turning it around,” added Reilly, “that story has been filed. Now it’s about making it a good show for many years to come.”

Spreading the love: ABC announced on Good Morning America Monday that Modern Family was covering the cost of all marriage licenses and wedding ceremonies taking place that day at the New York City Clerk’s office. The comedy’s Mitch and Cam get married in a two-part season finale, starting Wednesday at 9p.

In a blog post Sunday, Community creator Dan Harmon said he “will not be standing in the way” if the series, canceled by NBC on Friday after five seasons, draws interest elsewhere. “I said ‘eh’ on Friday afternoon, I will change it to a ‘sure, let’s talk’ on Monday morning,” he told the comedy’s fans.
