NBC and SiriusXM struck a deal to air the Today show on the radio service starting June 26. The channel will offer live feeds of Today from both coasts. Said NBC News president Deborah Turness, “We are giving [fans] an opportunity to stay connected even longer when they get in their cars.” SiriusXM currently simulcasts cable news channels including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and CNBC.

Comcast and Time Warner Cable have held talks to possibly sell 3-5 million subscribers to Charter Communications, or spin off subs into a new company with Charter given a minority stake, ahead of the Comcast/TWC merger. Charter had tried to buy TWC in February, before Comcast stepped in.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will return to produce the Oscars for the third year straight. “Craig and Neil are masters at tapping into the zeitgeist,” said Academy CEO Dawn Hudson. The 2014 show drew an average 45.4 million total viewers and a 13.7 rating among A18-49, attracting its biggest viewership in 14 years. The 87th Academy Awards will air on ABC Sunday, February 22, 2015.
