Disney tapped ABC News president Ben Sherwood to succeed Anne Sweeney as co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC Television Group. Sherwood assumes the co-chair title on February 1, 2015, upon the exit of Sweeney, who announced her decision to pursue TV directing. Effective immediately, Sherwood will transition as co-president. “Ben is one of those unique executives who combine rich creative experience with great business acumen,” said Bob Iger, chairman and CEO of Disney. “He’s also focused, strategic and competitive, as evidenced by the success of GMA, the Yahoo deal that delivered ABC News online dominance, and the vision behind our new cable and digital venture, Fusion.

After lighting up Twitter with the (spoiler alert!) shocking death of Will Gardner (Josh Charles) on Sunday night, CBS’s The Good Wife follows up with the aftermath on Sunday, March 30 at 9p. “Bring tissues,” advised Julianna Margulies during a Facebook chat. Show creators Robert and Michelle King explained in a letter to fans that faced with Charles’ decision to leave the show, they decided to kill off the character because, “The Good Wife is a show about human behavior and emotion, and death, as sad and unfair as it can be, is part of the human experience that we want to share.”
