The 66th Prime Time Emmys will air on NBC on August 25 – a Monday night, rather than the usual awards-friendly Sunday berth. While the Emmys have taken place in September on CBS, ABC and Fox, NBC slotted them a month early during the net’s 2006 and 2010 rotations, so as not to conflict with Sunday Night Football. But this is the first time the show has been scheduled on a Monday since 1976.

FremantleMedia, 19 Entertainment/CORE Media Group and Fox have announced partnerships with Google and Facebook that will give fans new interactive on-air and online experiences. Google is powering an online voting platform that allows fans to cast votes for their favorite Idol finalists directly from Google Search; Facebook will support visual, on-air voting progress updates based on real-time East Coast voting data during select live shows, giving at-home viewers a look at how finalists are faring.

CBS revealed the 11 all-star teams returning for another sprint around the globe and the chance to win $1 million on the new season of The Amazing Race, premiering Sunday, February 23 at 8p.
