Viacom launched a new ad sales unit yesterday offering integrated marketing and creative content solutions. Viacom Velocity Integrated Marketing will plan and execute campaigns for Viacom’s networks and their extensions and social media; its Creative Content Solutions branch will produce custom content with MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, CMT, Logo, Spike TV and TV Land for TV, digital platforms and cross-network campaigns.

MTV is going retro. Leading up to one-hour special Retromania: Hip Hop on Saturday, February 1 at 2:30p, the net will feature Retromania: Hip Hop Week. Segments start airing Monday, January 27 as interstitials, with hip hop artists revisiting some of the best culture moments from the late 1990s (American Pie, anyone?) through the mid-2000s. “There is an incredibly strong sense of nostalgia for the late 90s and early 2000s that we see play out with our audience in social media every day,” Dave Sirulnick, exec producer and EVP for MTV tells Cynopsis.
