Netflix and Disney announced a deal for Marvel to develop four live-action series featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage in association with ABC Television Studios. The agreement calls for a minimum of four 13-ep series to air exclusively on Netflix beginning in 2015, leading up to a miniseries programming event. Disney purchased Marvel in 2009 and already has content from the brand on its own outlets, including Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC.

Viacom International Networks and Twitter inked a deal with cosmetics company Cosnova that will feature its beauty brand Essence in a Twitter Amplify social video advertising campaign, the first on a pan-European basis. The campaign is part of a sponsorship package around the 2013 MTV European Music Awards, which will air on MTV channels across the globe on Sunday, November 10. Last year’s EMAs drew 5.7 million tweets.

To introduce viewers to its new TV Everywhere app, CMT is pre-releasing the first episode of Sweet Home Alabama season four exclusively on the app, a week before its television premiere. The app offers access to a library of current episodes and full seasons of shows like Dog and Beth: On the Hunt, as well as retro favorites on the net.

NBC has ordered a holiday special of its summer series hosted by Jane Lynch, Hollywood Game Night. Guests will include Ray Romano, Cheryl Hines and Gavin DeGraw, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Hazy Mills Productions show is set to air Monday, December 2 at 10p.

Chef Curtis Stone‘s status as frequent guest co-host on The Chew has been upgraded to regular guest host of the ABC daily food and lifestyle show. Stone will fill in “on a semi-regular basis,” starting Tuesday, November 12.

Damon Wayans, Jr. will be sticking around New Girl. The actor had been in the pilot of the Fox comedy, but bowed out of the series due to a commitment to ABC‘s Happy Endings, which got an unexpected pickup. After that show was canceled, Wayans was brought back for a four-ep arc on New Girl that’s been extended for the entire third season. Wayans’ first return appearance brought an 11 percent ratings bump.

ABC swept Wednesday night with the 47th Annual Country Music Awards, finishing the night tops in all key Adult demos, including A18-49 (4.7/13) – its first win in the demo on the opening Wednesday of any sweep since 2007, reports the net. In M18-34, ratings jumped 41 percent year to year, to a 9-year high.

Airing opposite the CMA’s didn’t help Fox‘s The X Factor on its return to Wednesday night, after last month’s baseball-scrambled schedule. The music competition scored a 1.5 rating in A18-49, down 32 percent from its last regular episode on October 9.

Daytime’s top talker got a big boost from an interview with “Miracle in Cleveland” survivor Michele Knight. Ratings for the Dr. Phil Show exclusive, airing in two parts on Tuesday, November 5 and Wednesday November 6, reached a season high 4.0/11 both days in metered markets. Overnight ratings were up 33 percent from last week and 38 percent from last year.
