In addition to its traditional In Memoriam segment, this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards telecast will include tributes to James Gandolfini, Gary David Goldberg, Cory Monteith and Jonathan Winters from friends and co-workers. The remembrances will “be very meaningful for television audiences across the country and across generations,” said EP Ken Ehrlich. Show airs Sunday, September 22 at 8p on CBS.

The winners have been announced for the 2013 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Honors were spread over thirty nets, with HBO getting the biggest haul at 20 (eight for Behind the Candelabra), followed by CBS with 15 and NBC with 8. FXX will air the presentation on Saturday, September 21 at 9p, the day before the live Primetime Emmys show on CBS.

The cast of AMC‘s Breaking Bad will have a sit-down on TBS‘s Conan, their first-ever appearance on a talk show, on Monday, September 23 at 11p. That’s the day after the Emmys (Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn are up for acting awards) and ahead of the highly-anticipated series finale on Sunday, September 29 at 9p.

Nickelodeon is hosting fitness-themed events in NYC all week – like kayaking at the Brooklyn Bridge boathouse – leading up to its annual Worldwide Day of Play on Saturday, September 21. Once again, the net will suspend programming on all its TV channels from 12p-3p in a bid to get kids to get off the couch.

NBC‘s Saturday Night Live added six featured players, and sophomore cast member Cecily Strong has been anointed co-host of Weekend Update with Seth Meyers. She may get the spot to herself soon – Meyers is departing the sketch show in February to host the net’s new late-night talker, Late Night with Seth Meyers. Season 39 (!) of SNL bows September 28 at 11:30p, with Tina Fey hosting.

TV Land‘s Hot in Cleveland has started production for season five, which will deal with Melanie’s (Valerie Bertinelli) surprise pregnancy, and include a crossover with TV Land freshman Kirstie. Kirstie debuts in December 2013; Hot comes back in spring, 2014.

Imani Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris) and Sydney Mikayla (Whitney) will share the role of Gabby Douglas in a Lifetime movie about the Olympic gold medalist. The Sony Pictures Television production tracks the fortunes of the gymnastics prodigy, who also appears in the movie, bowing in 2014.
