Time Warner Cable is facing a class action lawsuit from three southern California customers frustrated that they can’t access CBS shows, Showtime and Movie Channel, thanks to the carriage fees dispute that caused a two-week (and counting) blackout. Plaintiffs seek reimbursement for subscription fees, saying they didn’t receive advance notice of the blackout and the replacement programming is not a reasonable substitute. BTIG media analyst Richard Greenfield tells Cynopsis, “Lawsuits aren’t the answer – the FCC must intervene now. Worth pointing out disgruntled customers can use antennas to get all of CBS in beautiful HD for free.”

Andy Cohen (Watch What Happens Live) won’t be repeating as host of the Miss Universe Pageant because it’s taking place in Moscow. The openly gay Bravo exec/talk show host told E! NewsGiuliana Rancic, his co-host for the last two years, that Russia’s “discriminatory policies make it unsafe for the gays who live there and gays coming to work or visit,” adding he “didn’t feel right as a gay man stepping foot in Russia.” The pageant is scheduled for Saturday, November 9.

Fox Sports 1 is in the game: The net has struck deals with the major distribution partners it needs to reach 90 million homes at launch. In addition to the last-minute arrangements with DirecTV and Dish Network that were expected, Fox will be available on Time Warner Cable, a partnership that in recent days appeared iffy. “This network launch is a major milestone for Fox and will alter the sports television landscape,” said Fox Networks’ Distribution Pres Mike Hopkins. Of course, getting the channel in homes is just part of the battle. Said Showtime Networks‘s Evp & GM, Sports & Event Programming Stephen Espinoza at the Cynopsis sports summit on Wednesday of the venture, “It’s going to live or die on the strength of its content.”

Singer Carly Rae Jepson (you might have heard her song Call Me Maybe a few times last summer) will headline a show on USA Network aimed at preventing bullying. #UniteLIVE: The Concert to Rock Out Bullying will take place Thursday, October 3, during National Bullying Prevention Month. Jepson is also taping public service announcements. “We are proud to team up with a pop icon who reaches millions of young people worldwide and who is so passionate about raising awareness about the issue of bullying,” said USA’s Toby Graff, Senior VP of Public Affairs.

Glee‘s Finn won’t die of an accidental drug overdose, Ryan Murphy told Deadline. “That was something we considered,” said the Exec Producer, in the wake of the July 13 death of the actor who played Finn, Cory Monteith. But while Monteith died of a combination of heroin and alcohol, “We have decided we’re not going to have [Finn] pass from that…. We say very early in the episode, ‘This episode is about a celebration of that character’s life,'” said Murphy. “That might be weird for some people, but it felt really exploitative to do it any other way.”

TLC will bring us new Toddlers & Tiaras eps next month, as the precocious princesses compete in local pageants. This go-round, “The pageant themes are diverse and include everything from American history to unusual pets,” EP Suzanne Rauscher tells Cynopsis. “The show will continue to deliver lots of glitz and glamour.” And maybe the next Honey Boo Boo? New eps begin Wednesday, September 18 at 9p.

Royals alert: CNN and U.K.’s ITV have landed the first TV chat with Prince William since the birth of the royal heir last month. In the doc Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope, “Prince William shares his joy at becoming a father, talks about his hopes for his family and his passion for wildlife conservation,” said ITV. CNN will air part of the convo on New Day on Monday, August 19; the complete show airs Sunday, September 15.

Sony and Viacom have a preliminary agreement for Sony to carry the media company’s cable channels on the Internet-based TV service it plans to launch by year’s end, reports the Wall Street Journal. TV channels and video-on-demand content would be streamed to Sony’s PlayStation consoles and Bravia HDTVs, with broadband service eventually also working with Sony smartphones and tablets.

White Collar returns to USA Network Thursday, October 17 at 9p, followed by the first of Covert Affairs‘ final six season four eps.

TNT renewed three shows that ranked in the basic cable’s top ten this summer: Number one Rizzoli & Isles comes back for a fifth season, and Major Crimes and Perception return for third rounds.

A&E‘s Duck Dynasty had a record-breaking season four premiere on Wednesday night, drawing 11.8 million total viewers. It was the net’s top series ever with 6.3 million A18-49 and 25-54, and the number one nonfiction telecast in cable history. “We would like to thank the Robertsons for their incredible partnership” said A&E GM and Exec VP David McKillip of the Duck Commander crew. “We are all Happy, Happy, Happy.”

Movie legend Lauren Bacall is putting the moves on Family Guy. The To Have And Have Not star will voice the best friend of Peter’s late mom in a season twelve ep, and wind up making passes at Peter. Family Guy premieres Sunday, September 29 at 9p; Bacall’s character appears in January.

Lindsay Lohan has signed on to appear in the fourth and final season of HBO‘s Eastbound & Down. The baseball comedy returns on Sunday, September 29 at 10:30p

Julianne Nicholson (Boardwalk Empire) has been cast in Sundance Channel drama The Red Road. She joins Tamara Tunie (Law and Order), Annalise Basso (Oculus) and Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan).

Josh Gad (The Book of Mormon) has been cast opposite Billy Crystal in FX/Fox TV Studios pilot The Comedians. Gad plays an edgy young comic who resents being pairing with a legendary older comedian (Crystal) for a late-night sketch show.

Laura Prepon will return to season two of Netflix‘s Orange Is the New Black only to wrap up her story, reports Buzzfeed. The report of her exit comes after Taryn Manning and Uzo Aduba were upped to series regulars.

Eva LaRue, who spent seven seasons on CBS‘s canceled CSI: Miami, will make a guest appearance on the net’s Criminal Minds. “Wish I were still playing Natalia on CSI Miami, but playing Agent Mays on Criminal Minds is the next best thing!” the actress tweeted Wednesday. CM’s ninth season premieres Wednesday, September 25 at 9p.

Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) and Mason Dye will play the young leads in Lifetime movie Flowers in the Attic, based on the V.C. Andrews novel.
