In the wake of brisk sales of tweet-related sponsorship opportunities for MTV‘s 2013 Music Video Awards, Viacom and Twitter are partnering for Twitter Amplify campaigns for dozens of other shows and events through 2014. Twitter Amplify lets nets deliver sponsor-supported content via Twitter before and during events. “The availability of Twitter Amplify in the MTV Music Video Awards an annual trending-topic behemoth – generated such a great response from advertisers that we’re accelerating our plans to roll it out across our networks,” Viacom Music head of Sales, Music and Entertainment Jeff Lucas. VMA’s air live Sunday, August 25 at 9p; sponsor-supported content for the event will include red carpet and backstage moments, and MTV News reports.

In her blog Monday, Fox News host Greta Van Susteren suggested that her bosses at Fox sign up Leno. “In NBC’s ‘great wisdom,'” she wrote, “they are upsetting the apple cart and forcing him to go. They have a known winner and are ‘rolling the dice.'” Leno’s final Tonight Show airs Thursday, February 6.
