A whole lotta Hoopla over Hulu: After months of heated speculation, the owners of Hulu have decided not to sell the online video service after all. NBCUniversal, 21st Century Fox and the Walt Disney Company will instead make a $750 million investment in the service that keeps them solidly in the ever-evolving streaming video game. “Disney and its partners are committing resources to enable Hulu to achieve its maximum potential,” said Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger.

Hours after Bay Area outlet KTVU apologized for falsely reporting the names of the pilots in the July 6 Asiana Airlines crash, the National Transportation Safety Board issued its own mea culpa on Friday, admitting that a summer intern at the agency had mistakenly confirmed the offensive names to KTVU. “Captain Sum Ting Wong” – really? “Appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such a serious error is not repeated,” said a statement from the NTSB.

An autopsy is scheduled for today for Cory Monteith, who was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on Saturday. The Glee star was 31. Monteith had been battling drug addiction since his teens, and completed a stint at an addiction treatment facility in April. The fifth season of Fox‘s Glee is scheduled to premiere September 19. “We are deeply saddened by this tragic news,” Fox said in a statement. “Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person.” Monteith also had a role in the upcoming film, All the Wrong Reasons.

NBC is parting ways with Betty White. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has canceled Off Their Rockers. The series, which was hosted by White and ran for two seasons, featured seniors punking younger folks while hidden cameras captured it all. The show debuted in April 2012.

Everyone’s last chance for style advice from Stacy London and Clinton Kelly is inching closer. TLC‘s longest running primetime series What Not to Wear, which is coming to an end this season, begins airing its final episodes on Friday, August 9 at 10p. The show’s last season includes some of the biggest wardrobe challenges to-date, including a mother of nine who gets a $10,000 makeover (vs. the usual $5,000), a woman who gets a surprise visit from London and Kelly while sitting in the audience of The Chew, and a behind-the-scenes episode where viewers will get a look at what it takes to produce each episode of the show.
