CBS and PBS led the nominations for the 34th annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards. CBS received 46 noms, including 24 nominations for its long-running newsmagazine 60 Minutes. PBS was a close second with 45 noms, including 18 nominations for Frontline. In addition, David Fanning, founder and executive producer of Frontline, will receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

NBC is parting ways with Betty White. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has canceled Off Their Rockers. The series, which was hosted by White and ran for two seasons, featured seniors punking younger folks while hidden cameras captured it all. The show debuted in April 2012.

Darren Star is headed back to prime time. The Sex and the City alum will direct and executive produce the Lifetime pilot HG, starring Alicia Silverstone. The show centers on Ellen Bell (Silverstone), the director of human resources for a global company who throws standard corporate practices out the window.

Everyone’s last chance for style advice from Stacy London and Clinton Kelly is inching closer. TLC‘s longest running primetime series What Not to Wear, which is coming to an end this season, begins airing its final episodes on Friday, August 9 at 10p. The show’s last season includes some of the biggest wardrobe challenges to-date, including a mother of nine who gets a $10,000 makeover (vs. the usual $5,000), a woman who gets a surprise visit from London and Kelly while sitting in the audience of The Chew, and a behind-the-scenes episode where viewers will get a look at what it takes to produce each episode of the show. What Not to Wear is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions for TLC.

There’s a new family game show heading to NBC. The network has ordered eight, hour-long episodes of Wall of Fame. This comedic game show offers families the chance to win big money, if they can not only answer pop culture trivia questions correctly, but also guess whether members delivered the correct answers to those same questions. The show is being produced by Endemol USA.

NCIS is losing a major cast member. Cote de Pablo, who plays agent Ziva David, will leave the show during its upcoming 11th season. The actress joined the series in season 3. The show is slated to return on September 24 on CBS.

Kristen Bell has been tapped to guest star in an episode of NBC‘s Parks and Recreation, reports Entertainment Weekly. She’ll play Ingrid, a snooty city councilwoman from Eagleton. The series returns for its sixth season on September 26. Bell is slated to air in early October.

Another American Idol alum is heading to Glee. Adam Lambert is joining the FOX series, when it returns for its fifth season. Details on who Lambert will play or the length of his run have not been disclosed. Last season, Idol winner Jessica Sanchez had a multiple-episode role on the show, playing a singer at a rival glee club. The series returns on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 9p.

Carla Gugino has landed a lead role in FOX‘s limited series Wayward Pines. The 10-episode drama, which is being described as a thriller a la Twin Peaks, centers on Secret Service agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon). Gugino will play Kate Hewson, Ethan’s former Secret Service partner.
