FOX‘s American Idol has named its new executive producer. Swedish television executive Pers Blankens will take over the series’ upcoming 13th season. Blankens previously served as executive producer on Idol, the top-rated Swedish version of the singing competition franchise. He was also Managing Director of Friday TV, part of the Shine Group, and Head of Programmes for the Scandinavian production company Meter Television, where he oversaw the Swedish versions of MasterChef and The Biggest Loser.

It’s time for a wedding. Fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County who watched Tamra Barney find true love with Eddie Judge will have a front row seat at their California coast nuptials. Bravo Media is walking down the aisle with Barney and Judge in the three-part series Tamra’s OC Wedding, premiering Monday, September 2 at 8p. Fuse is expanding its programming line-up with the launch of three original series. Insane Clown Posse Theater, produced by Fuse and set to premiere Wednesday, July 24, features Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope‘s twisted take on what’s new in music and popular culture. G-Thing, produced by Fuse and Paulina Williams and slated to debut Wednesday, July 24, looks into the lives of G-Fella, an Italian-American rapper, and his family as they try to launch the first “family style” run record label. Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce [wt], produced by World of Wonder and set to premiere Wednesday, September 18, explores the underground world of the New Orleans hip hop scene known as Bounce.

TV One will premiere R&B Divas LA via Video on Demand on Sunday, July 7, a full three days in advance of the series’ network launch. It marks the first time TV One will debut and promote an original series on VOD before it airs on the linear network on Wednesday, July 10 at 10p. OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has ordered additional episodes of its popular Saturday night original series Iyanla: Fix My Life, Raising Whitley and Life with LaToya. Iyanla: Fix My Life, currently in its second season, will return with six new episodes beginning Saturday, July 20 at 9p. The network has also ordered 10 additional episodes of Raising Whitley and 12 new episodes of Life with La Toya to air in early 2014.

The oustings continue at American Idol. Executive Producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick won’t be back at the FOX  series next season. “The passion and dedication that Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick brought to American Idol guided the show to become a true cultural phenomenon,” said FOX, Fremantle Media and 19 Entertainment in a statement. “While we are saddened they will no longer be executive producers on the show, we are grateful for their tremendous contributions and look forward to continuing to work with them on additional projects.” Lythgoe took to Twitter to note that he is still in business with the network on So You Think You Can Dance, where he serves as both executive producer and a judge. “Yes, don’t worry. I’m on #SYTYCD. Fox still loves me,” he posted via the handle @dizzyfeet. “It’s not a personal thing. They just feel IDOL needs new leadership after 12 seasons.”

Things are about to get very awkward, as in the MTV series Awkward. The show’s season finale airs Tuesday, June 11 at 10p. Immediately following, at 10:30p, MTV will air a 30-minute after-show, offering a retrospective look at the third season. Then, on Tuesday, June 18 at 10p, the network will air the half-hour special Awkward’s Most Awkward Moments, featuring the show’s cast as they delve into the funniest lines, juiciest relationships and more from the last three seasons.

Leon Knoles (America’s Got Talent, Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew) has been tapped to direct the upcoming syndicated talker The Arsenio Hall Show. The show, from CBS Television Distribution, is slated to debut on September 9. “Leon Knoles knows live television, music and, more importantly, how I work which is an unbeatable combination in my opinion,” said Hall. “He has the sensibility as well as the experience to deliver the nightly entertainment we envision for the show. ABC has picked up another drama. The network has placed a 13-episode straight-to-series order for The Black Box. The show, from independent production company Bold Films, centers on neuroscientist Elizabeth Black, who struggles to hide her mental illness. It is slated for a 2014 debut.
