Nevermind the buzz about the “satellite” interview that was conducted in the same parking lot on Tuesday. CNN is moving on with the announcement of new original series Chicagoland, set to debut in early 2014. The nonscripted, eight-part series, exec produced by Sundance Productions’ Robert Redford and Laura Michalchyshyn and BCTV’s Marc Levin and Mark Benjamin, will probe the people and politics of Chicago.

Michael Bay’s ship isn’t only sailing on Starz. As well as developing original pirate adventure Black Sails for Starz, 10 episodes of Bay’s The Last Ship have been green-lighted by TNT. The drama, about a navy destroyer that survives a nuclear disaster, stars Eric Dane, with Hank Steinberg as show runner.

Jeanne Cooper, who starred for four decades as Katherine Chancellor on The Young and the Restless, died yesterday morning at age 84. Chancellor, the mother of actor Corbin Bernsen, received 10 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, a Daytime Emmy win in 2008 and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Cooper was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1993.
