ABC‘s Nightline is going primetime. The new weekly, hour-long edition, Nightline: Two Truths and a Lie, will begin airing on Wednesday, May 29 at 10 p. The show will be a  survival guide to the modern consumer jungle, offering undercover investigations, coverage of trends and products that obsess Americans, and tips about how to maximize value and avoid costly mistakes. Cynthia McFadden and Bill Weir will anchor the show and be joined by other ABC News correspondents. Jeanmarie Condon will serve as executive producer and David Scott as senior broadcast producer.

Another day, another mention of a potential new judge on American Idol. After his recent stint as a mentor on the FOX series, Harry Connick, Jr. confirmed he’s been approached about being a judge on the show next year. E! News broke the story, in which Connick revealed that this isn’t the first time the subject has been broached: it was first posed when he advised contestants on season nine, three years ago. While Connick noted that his stints on the show have been “really fun,” he admitted that because of his upcoming tour schedule, it would be hard to make a commitment.

Ken Ehrlich has been named Executive Producer of the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards. This will mark Ehrlich’s sixth time producing the awards show. He recently led The Grammy Awards to two of its most-viewed events, with the 2012 broadcast delivering 39.9 million viewers, its largest audience since 1984. The Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast from Nokia Theater L.A. live in Los Angeles, Sunday, September 22 on CBS.

STARZ mob drama series Magic City returns for a second season on Friday, June 14 at 9p as Ike (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) risks everything in a life and death battle to rid his Miramar Playa Hotel of the mob and Ben (Danny Huston). Olga Kurylenko, Steven Strait, Christian Cooke, Kelly Lynch, Yul Vazquez, Dominik Garcia-Lorido and Elena Satine will all be returning. The show will be adding more star power as James Caan and Esai Morales join the cast. Viewers can catch up on season one of Magic City Tuesday, June 11 through Thursday, June 13 when episodes air every night at 8p.

MTV has greenlit a new summer relationship series. The network ordered 20 episodes of Girl, Get Your Mind Right! The half-hour show focuses on author and romance expert Tionna Smalls, as she helps young women get over their dating issues. The show is set to premiere Monday, May 20 at 6p.
