ABC’s Malibu Country has lost another showrunner. Nastaran Dibaiis stepping down from the position. Dibai took over for the show’s creator Kevin Abbott in November, when he exited the series. USA Network is giving viewers a sneak preview of its upcoming series Graceland. For a limited two-week period beginning Monday, April 29, the show’s pilot will be available for free on video-on-demand on most carriers, including, Comcast Xfinity TV, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications, Cox Communications, Cablevision, DirecTV, Dish, and Verizon FiOS. Graceland, based on true events, premieres Thursday, June 6 at 10p and focuses on the lives of undercover agents from the FBI, DEA and US Customs who reside and operate under one roof. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation has announced a new College Television Award category, the Subway Fresh Artists Award, as part of its inaugural program with Subway restaurants. The competition challenges undergraduate and graduate students at colleges and universities nationwide to create a short video that adheres to a predetermined theme. The new award will be presented by Brian Baumgartner (The Office) during the 34th College Television Awards Gala on Thursday, April 25. This year’s winner will receive a $10,000 cash award, plus the option and funds to create additional webisodes.

Netflix’s Q1 numbers are in, and the company reports that it now has 29.17 million subscribers in the US alone — that’s 2 million more than the number of subscribers the streaming video provider had at the end of 2012. Globally, Netflix reports more than 36 million subscribers, an addition of 3.05 million new customers when compared to the end of 2012/previous quarter. The company’s net income during Q1 was $2.6 million on revenue of $1.02 billion, the first time it’s topped the billion-dollar mark. As a result, Netflix shares, which had gone up 11 percent during regular trading on Monday, rose an additional 21 percent after the closing bell on Wall Street.

Sony Pictures Television is launching the movie channel GetTV this fall. It will premiere on the Univision Television Group stations’ subchannels. Programming will mainly come from the Sony Pictures library and will include classic films. Sony Pictures Television is in talks with other station groups about picking up GetTV.

Good news for Mario Lopez; bad news for Khloe Kardashian. Lopez is returning as sole host of FOX‘s The X Factor, when the singing competition series launches its third season, this fall. Kardashian, who briefly served as Lopez’s co-host, is out. The X Factor judge Simon Cowell noted that he is “thrilled” to have Lopez back. “Hosting a live show and keeping the judges – especially Demi – in line, is not an easy job,” teased Cowell, referring to fellow judge Demi Lovato. “But Mario is a pro.” Open auditions for the show’s third season continue in Long Island, NY, at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on April 25; and in Denver, CO, at the Denver Coliseum on May 14.
