Following the ratings smash that was Sunday night’s Super Bowl XLVII on CBS Sunday night, freshman drama Elementary delivered 20.8 million total viewers and posted a 7.8 rating among A18-49 viewers as well as an 8.3 rating with A25-54. This is a definite downturn in post-Super Bowl programming ratings: last year’s NBC broadcast of The Voice, for example, pulled in 37.6 million total viewers. The low numbers could be due, in part, to the 34-minute mid-game blackout that pushed the start of Elementary into the 11p hour. However, CBS also reports that The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson Super Bowl Special delivered the program’s second-largest audience ever, with a 1.7 among A18-49 and 4.43 million total viewers.
