Even though HBO has not officially announced a renewal for Girls, the recent Golden Globe-winning writer/actress Lena Dunham said production on season three would begin at the end of March.  Dunham was speaking to Alec Baldwin this week on his podcast Here’s The Thing.

TLC continues with its Gypsy-themed franchise when Gypsy Sisters premieres February 10 at 9p with a special two-hour debut episode.  The series travels to Martinsburg, West Virginia to reintroduce the Stanley family who were originally seen in My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding.  TLC approved eight episodes produced by Firecracker Films.

Docu-seres World of Jenks is back on MTV’s lineup starting March 4 at 11p with an all-new, revamped second season that delves into the lives of three more young people.  Award-winning documentary filmmaker Andrew Jenks joins each new cast member on their own journey, spending a year embedded with them.  The series offers viewers a deeply personal, inspiring as well as entertaining look at each subject’s life.  MTV will air 10 one-hour episodes.

On Wednesdays beginning March 6, Bravo Media launches Fashion Night by Bravo.  The programming block will open with the fifth season premiere of The Rachel Zoe Project at 9p followed by the second season bow of It’s a Brad, Brad World at 10p, and the new series Dukes of Melrose at 1030p featuring fashion boutique owners Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos.  The Rachel Zoe Project is produced by Left/Right for Bravo, It’s a Brad, Brad World is produced by Shed Media US and Television 360 for Bravo, and Dukes of Melrose is produced by True Entertainment.

CBS Television Distribution revealed its daytime talk show Dr. Phil has been renewed through the 2016-2017 season in 77% of the country.  The three-year extension will take Dr. Phil through its 15th season.  Dr. Phil airs on 13 CBS-owned stations including those in the top 5 markets: WCBS/New York, KCBS/Los Angeles, WBBM/Chicago, KYW/Philadelphia, and KTVT/Dallas-Ft. Worth.  Other station groups renewing the show include Young Broadcasting, Post-Newsweek, LIN Television, Sinclair Broadcast, Dispatch Broadcast, Media General, Cox Television, and Cordillera.  Dr. Phil was created by Harpo Productions and is produced by Peteski Productions in association with CBS Television Distribution and is distributed by CBS Television Distribution.

Two actors will be joining the final season of Showtime’s Dexter when the series returns in June.  Charlotte Rampling will play a neuro-psychiatrist who works with young psychopaths and profiles criminals in unorthodox ways.  Sean Patrick Flanery will play Jacob Elroy, an ex-cop and owner of a Miami-based PI firm.
