The spring edition of Survivor will premiere on CBS with a two-hour episode February 13 at 8p. The 20 castaways who will compete against each of will be dropped on Caramoan Islands and will consist of ten diehard show fans taking on ten favorite players from the past. Survivor: Caramoan- Fans vs. Favorites also sees Jeff Probst returning as host.

CBS further revealed summer premiere dates for two original scripted dramas, a new alternative series and the new season of Big Brother. New reality competition series based on the UK format The Great British Bake Off referred to as Untitled Baking Series debuts May 29 at 8p. Love Productions USA is producing. Under the Dome, a new 13-episode serialized drama based on Stephen King’s novel and produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment bows June 24 at 10p. The premiere of Under the Dome moves Hawaii Five-O to Fridays at 9p during the summer. The summer reality series Big Brother will sport a longer edition this summer launching June 26 at 9p and broadcasting three nights weekly, Tuesdays at 9p beginning July 2; the live eviction show hosted by Julie Chen on Wednesdays at 9p beginning July 3; and Sunday airings at 8p beginning June 30. Unforgettable, starring Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh returns for a second season on July 28 at 9p. Big Brother is executive produced by Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan in association with Endemol USA. Unforgettable is production by Sony Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.

An eighth season of Dexter will land on Showtime’s schedule this summer starting June 30 at 9p. Dexter will be a lead-in for Showtime’s new series Ray Donovan starring Liev Schreiber as a professional “fixer” for the rich and famous.

An upcoming episode of ABC Family’s Switched at Birth will present an episode entirely told in American Sign Language (ASL), a first for a scripted series on mainstream television. The episode will air March 4 at 8p and the plot will be told from the perspective of the series’ multiple deaf characters. Open captions for hearing viewers will be provided.

Bravo reports Thursday’s season premiere of The Millionaire Matchmaker has become the most-watched season debut of the series to date with 1.4 million total viewers and 775,000 with A18-49, a +40% and +23% jump respectively over the prior season’s premiere on August 15, 2011.

Evelyn Ward, Broadway star of musicals in the 1940s and mother of actor/singer David Cassidy died at the age of 89. Ms. Ward’s varied Broadway credits include The Firebrand of Florence with her future husband, Jack Cassidy who is David’s father and later husband to Shirley Jones who starred with David in the ABC family sitcom, The Partridge Family. Ms. Ward also appeared on television as a regular in the 1949 variety series Manhattan Showcase and The College Bowl and also guest starred in such series as Mike Hammer, Dr. Kildare, Perry Mason and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. among others. Ms. Ward is survived by her son, David and his daughter Katie Ward who stars in CW’s Arrow along with a grandson, singer/songwriter Beau Cassidy.
