ABC touts Jimmy Kimmel Live surged to nearly 3.1 million viewers this past Tuesday night, the first day in its new 1135p time slot, making it the show’s second-most-watched telecast ever. JKL increased over its season average in its previous 12a time slot by +59% in total viewers (3.097 million vs. 1.942 million) and by +33% in A18-49 (887,000 vs. 667,000).

Celebrating its 12,000th episode this Friday, NBC’s Days of Our Lives was renewed through September 2014. From Sony Pictures Television, Days first premiered as a half-hour daytime drama in 1965.

In a new series TLC explores the world of celebrity ex-wives and ex-girlfriends when Starter Wives Confidential premieres January 29 at 10p. Each one-hour episode shares the lives of seven women who supported their former husbands/boyfriends before the guys achieved fame and wealth. The cast includes Zakia Baum, ex-girlfriend of Jermaine “Maino” Coleman; Cheryl Caruso, ex-wife of mobster Phillip Caruso; Josie Harris, ex-girlfriend of Floyd Mayweather; Monica Joseph-Taylor, ex-wife of Aston “Funkmaster Flex” Taylor; Liza Morales, ex-girlfriend of Lamar Odom; Tashera Simmons, ex of Earl “DMX” Simmons; and Shaniqua Tompkins, ex-girlfriend of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Netflix’s Television Critics Association’s winter press tour said the return of Arrested Development will premiere in May. Netflix original series order was 10 episodes though that got bumped up to 14 episodes. The ensemble cast from the original FOX series will be returning and guest stars inked for the relaunch include Liza Minnelli, Conan O’Brien, John Slattery, Chris Diamantopoulos, Isla Fisher and Terry Crews.

Syfy’s series Total Blackout hosted by Jaleel White will be back with its second season starting January 15 at the special time of 1030p which follows the 90-minute season four premiere of Face Off at 9p. Total Blackout will move to its regular 10p time slot on January 22. Total Blackout is a production of FremantleMedia North America.

TBS ushered in a new season of Cougar Town Tuesday night that attracted more than 2.2 million total viewers, 1.3 million among A18-49 and 613,000 with A18-34 based on Live + Same Day. Cougar Town airs Tuesdays at 10p exclusively on TBS.

New one-hour daily talk show Bethenny hosted by Bethenny Frankel has been cleared in more than 97% of the US following its six-week test on select FOX-owned stations. The FOX-owned stations will be launch partners for the show with its stations representing 37% of the country alone with the other 60% in clearances comprised of ABC, CBS and NBC affiliates and from station groups such as NBC, Hearst, Gannett, Sinclair, Cox, Lin, Raycom, Post-Newsweek, Media General, Allbritton, Gray, Northwest and Journal among others. Bethenny, from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution ran its test from June 11 to July 20 on six Fox Television Stations: WNYW/New York, KTTV/Los Angeles, WTXF/Philadelphia, KDFW/Dallas, KSAZ/Phoenix and KMSP/Minneapolis. The series increased the May 2012 time periods in all six markets in both Women 25-54 (+140%) and A25-54 (+133%).

Former co-host of BET’s 106 & Park Rocsi Diaz was named Weekend Co-Anchor and Daily Correspondent of Entertainment Tonight from CBS Television Distribution. Rocsi will co-anchor the weekend show with Rob Marciano. Rocsi also produced and hosted a radio show for Westwood One network, Rocsi on the Radio and is a contributor to Latina Magazine.
