Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes will be working with NBC in a new deal to write and produce a period drama for the network titled The Gilded Age. Produced by Universal Television, the drama will depict the world of millionaire titans in New York during the 1880s. Fellowes will continue in his present roles as creator, writer and executive producer of Downton Abbey which was recently renewed for a fourth season by UK’s ITV.

Fuse, the national music TV network and part of The Madison Square Garden Company, acquired the series Ex-Wives of Rock from Tricon Film & Television. The series will be included in Fuse Friday Nights, an all-new night of original series. The US premiere of Ex-Wives of Rock is December 7 at 1030p sandwiched between the series return of Funny or Die’s Billy on the Street at 10p and Warped Roadies at 11p. Set in Los Angeles, Ex-Wives of Rock tells the true-life stories of women who have married and divorced rock stars. Narrated by Shannon Tweed, wife of KISS bassist Gene Simmons, the series looks at the lives of Athena Lee (ex-wife of Scorpions drummer James Kottak and sister to Tommy Lee), Sharise Neil (ex-wife of Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, Bobbie Brown (ex-wife of Warrant frontman Jani Lane and once engaged to Tommy Lee) and Susan Dixon, also known as “Blue” (ex-wife of Warrant bassist Jerry Dixon). Ex-Wives of Rock also airs in Canada on Slice.

A slew of celebrities are heading to Portlandia when the series makes its third season debut on IFC January 4 at 10p. Those appearing include Roseanne Barr, Matt Berry, Rose Byrne, Bill Hader, Juliette Lewis, Martina Navratilova and George Wendt among many others. As previously announced, Chloe Sevigny will appear in multiple episodes during the new season playing Fred and Carrie’s new roommate, Alexandra. Other series regulars such as Jeff Goldblum, Kyle MacLachlan and Kumail Nanjiani will also be returning for season three. For those fans who cannot wait until January, IFC will air an all-new pre-premiere episode on December 14 at 1030p which will also be available on IFC.com, the Portlandia Facebook page and iTunes the next day.

Comedy Central renewed its sketch comedy series Key & Peele for a third season and has also increased its episode order to 13 eps for next fall. Key & Peele is executive produced by its creators Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele in addition to Ian Roberts, Jay Martel and Joel Zadak. During its second season, Key & Peele averaged 1.5 million viewers and its finale airs tonight at 1030p.

A pair of late night shows were renewed by FX as BrandX and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell each received 13-episode orders. BrandX starring Russell Brand will expand in the next season from a half-hour show to a full hour. FX will also air a one-hour special of BrandX this Thursday featuring Sarah Silverman and author and new age philosopher Daniel Pinchbeck. Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell will air its final episode of the year on Thursday featuring The Daily Show’s John Oliver as Bell’s guest. A new season of Totally Biased will return on FX January 17. Both series are produced in-house by FX Productions. BrandX is also produced in association with Branded Films and Dakota Films.

This Sunday fans of the late Larry Hagman will get a chance to pay their respects to him and his character, J.R. Ewing at Southfork Ranch located outside of Dallas in Parker, TX. The 340-acre homestead, whose exteriors were made famous by the TV series will offer complimentary tours from 2-4p this Sunday followed by a memorial reception where guests can leave cards, flowers and sign a memorial book to Hagman. Forever Resorts, the company that presently owns the ranch, revealed that Hagman, who died on November 22, had a family outing planned at Southfork the day of his passing.

Former Days of Our Lives cast member Matt Cedeno was cast in a recurring role on the upcoming Lifetime series Devious Maids. The new drama from Marc Cherry follows four Beverly Hills-based housekeepers (Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez and Judy Reyes) who have big dreams of their own. Cedeno joins as a recording artist returning home after a long tour. Melinda Page Hamilton is also joining Devious Maids playing a conniving housekeeper. If the series gets a second season order, both Cedeno and Hamilton will be bumped to series regulars.

Fans of detective drama series Sherlock headlined by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman may have to wait for season three to premiere on PBS in late 2013 – or even early 2014. Production on the third cycle has been moved from January to March and the reason, according to reports, is due to the stars’ busy schedules. Cumberbatch is set to star in Star Trek 2 while Freeman stars in The Hobbit. In the UK, BBC has not yet announced the premiere date for season three though fans there were hoping for a summer launch. BBC may debut Sherlock in late 2013 and PBS is allowed to air the series after BBC’s window.

A new reality series that reinvents gladiatorial combat in the 21st century makes its way to Syfy when Robot Combat League premieres February 26 at 10p. Hosted by WWE wrestler Chris Jericho, the series will feature tournament-style battles between eight-feet tall, state-of-the-art humanoid robots controlled by human “robo-jockeys.” Robot Combat League is produced by Smart Dog Media.

Sienna Guillory was tapped to play Luther’s new love interest in the third season of BBC America’s miniseries, Luther with production beginning last week on four all-new one-hour episodes set to premiere in 2013. Luther stars Idris Elba in the network’s Dramaville miniseries as crime investigator John Luther. Guillory will play Mary, a woman who works in a vintage clothes shop and meets Luther during a chance encounter. Luther is a BBC and BBC America co-production that is distributed by BBC Worldwide.

Actress Bobbi Jordan, best known for her role as former nightclub owner and singer Terri Webber Arnett on ABC’s General Hospital, died at her home in Encinitas, CA on November 9. She was 75. Ms. Jordan spent three years on the daytime soap General Hospital and following that stint, she secured regular roles on the primetime comedies Turnabout and Joe and Sons. Ms. Jordan also guest starred on such classic series as The Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Wild Wild West, Love, American Style, Ironside, Barbary Coast, The Odd Couple, Charlie’s Angels, Diff’rent Strokes, One Day at a Time, Quincy M.E., Nero Wolfe and Highway to Heaven. She also appeared in the 1974 film musical Mame which starred Lucille Ball. Ms. Jordan is survived by her son, writer-director Jordan Roberts; a stepdaughter; two grandchildren and a sister.
