Tuesday night’s election TV coverage put NBC on top among the broadcast networks, based preliminarily on fast affiliate returns from Nielsen.  NBC posted 12.56 million viewers followed by ABC with 11.15 million and CBS with 8.42 million.  Among the cable news networks, FOX News Channel (FNC) was first during primetime with 11.45 million viewers between 8-11p with CNN next at 9.25 million viewers and MSNBC with 4.67 million.  FNC also had the highest peak viewership at an average of 11.8 million between 10-11p.  With A25-54 viewers, CNN scored with 4.57 million with FNC in second at 4.45 million and MSNBC at 1.99 million in the demo.  Though from the 7p to 2a seven-hour block, which encompassed the state returns to Governor Mitt Romney’s concession speech and ending with President Barack Obama’s victory speech, it was CNN that did best overall with an average of 8.84 million total viewers though FNC was not too far behind with 8.7 million total viewers and MSNBC pulled in 4.6 million.

As the third season of PBS’ MASTERPIECE drama series Downton Abbey draws closer, a retrospective of seasons one and two will air as Downton Abbey Revisited on November 25 at 8p.  The 90-minute show will feature Dame Maggie Smith, Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Dan Stevens, Michelle Dockery, Siobhan Finneran and other cast members as they comment on key scenes from the first two seasons and interviews with the actors and crew along with never-before-seen footage.  The program is hosted by self-professing Downton Abbey fan, Angela Lansbury.  An encore of Downton Abbey Revisited will air later on November 25 at 930p (check local listings).  PBS will premiere season three of Downton Abbey on MASTERPIECE January 6.

Bilingual/bicultural network, Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas and the Pan American Health and Education Foundation are premiering a new docu-series, Empuje.  The series follows three young Latinos who are being mentored as they struggle to improve their health and wellness program paired with famous Latino athletes.  Daisy Fuentes narrates each of the three half-hour episodes debuting November 11 at 11a and airing on Sunday mornings.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network brings back new episodes of series, In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman starting December 4 at 10p.   In each episode, sex educator and therapist Dr. Berman helps real life couples build stronger relationships and improve their sex lives.
