Tonight at 8p, NBCUniversal will air a one-hour live benefit telethon, Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together across its roster of networks: NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA Network.  The telethon is hosted by Matt Lauer and will broadcast from NBC’s studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York.  Performances during the telethon include those by Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Sting with appearances by Jimmy Fallon and NBC News’ Brian Williams.  The telethon will also be live-streamed on NBC.com.  Money collected by NBCU will be donated to the American Red Cross relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy.

One baby times six or otherwise known as sextuplets are the focus of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s new docu-series, Six Little McGhees premiering December 15 at 10p.  The series follows parents Mia and Rozonno (Ro) McGhee, who appeared first on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011 whose six children are now demanding toddlers.  The McGhee sextuplets became Columbus, Ohio’s first set born on June 9, 2010.  The debut of Six Little McGhees follows the finale of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s and after the premiere the series will air in its regular time slot of Saturday at 9p.  Six Little McGhees is produced by Candor Entertainment in associate with Discovery Fit & Health and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

FX renewed its comedy series Wilfred for a third season starring Elijah Wood and Jason Gann.  Show runner David Zuckerman, who adapted the series will step down and be replaced by writers/EPs Reed Agnew and Eli Jorne; Zuckerman will continue as an EP.  During its second season, Wilfred averaged a 1.1 rating among A18-49 and approximately 1.16 million total viewers.

On the flip side, USA Network has canceled its police drama Common Law which ran for one season, averaging around 2.1 million viewers.  The one-hour drama was about two cops who enter into couple’s therapy.  Series star Warren Kole, who played LAPD officer Wes Mitchell opposite Michael Ealy, has already landed a recurring role on FOX’s midseason drama The Following.

Buddy “Cake Boss” Valastro has selected 13 aspiring pastry chefs to compete on a third season of TLC’s competition series, Next Great Baker.  One of the 13 cake artists will take home the prize of $100,000, a feature in Redbook Magazine and a chance to work with Buddy and his team at Carlo’s Bakery.  The 10-episode season of Next Great Baker opens with a 90-minute premiere on November 26 at 9p.  The new season welcomes several special guest judges including Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza, Lou Ferrigno, Peter Billingsley from A Christmas Story, Holly Madison and Joey Fatone among others.  Valastro is well-known to TLC viewers as the star of Cake Boss and the owner of Hoboken, NJ-based Carlo’s Bakery.  In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Valastro and his shop are fortunately fine and he wanted to share this statement: “Hoboken is in my heart, and I’m devastated to see the city suffer like this – but know we’ll all come back stronger than ever. Me, my family, and the entire Carlo’s Bakery crew extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by the hurricane. The bakery team is accounted for and safe, and are working together to help each other out. Also, the store did not suffer any serious damage, and we look forward to serving the community again soon.”

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and The Huffington Post Media Group are teaming to launch HuffPost OWN, a new section on The Huffington Post website that offers advice and ideas to help users find motivation, inspiration and fulfillment.  The section will include this year’s list of Oprah’s Favorite Things from O, The Oprah Magazine’s Holiday O List, Favorite Things trivia, video from the best Favorite Things moments from The Oprah Winfrey Show and more.

HBO
is continuing its partnership with Stephen Merchant (co-creator of The Office) as the premium network handed a full season order to the comedy, Hello Ladies which had received a pilot order last July.  HBO gave Hello Ladies eight episodes which is loosely based on a 2011 stand-up routine and follows Merchant as an awkward, overly confident Englishman trying to date in Los Angeles.  HBO is producing the series with ABC Studios.  Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are serving as EPs on the series under their overall deal with ABC Studios.

Erica Hill, formerly a CBS News anchor is joining NBC News as a National Correspondent and Weekend Today Co-Anchor.  Erica joins Lester Holt, Jenna Wolfe and Dylan Dreyer on the weekend edition of NBC’s morning program beginning tomorrow.  She will co-anchor both the Saturday and Sunday editions and contribute to other NBC News programs and platforms.
