FOX revealed its winter premiere dates including the 12th season of American Idol, with host Ryan Seacrest and new judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban along with returning judge Randy Jackson opening with a two-night premiere January 16 and 17 at 8p. New thriller drama The Following, starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy debuts January 21 at 9p and the second season of Touch, headlined by Kiefer Sutherland premieres February 1 at 9p.

A second season of WE tv’s series Mary Mary, featuring Grammy Award-winning gospel sisters Erica and Tina Campbell premieres December 6 at 10p. The new season has 13 one-hour episodes and following the premiere, the series moves to its regular time slot of Thursdays at 9p starting December 13. eOne Television produces the series for WE tv.

National music television network, Fuse, part of The Madison Square Garden Company brings back new episodes of Funny or Die’s Billy on the Street beginning December 7 at 10p. In 12 all-new half-hour episodes, Billy Eichner takes to the streets of New York City with his wit and humorous perspective as he quizzes unsuspecting New Yorkers on music and pop culture trivia. The new episodes feature a cadre of celebrities joining Billy including Will Ferrell, Maya Rudolph, Rashida Jones, Debra Messing, Andy Cohen, Hank Azaria, Kristen Johnston among others.

MTV has set the season two premiere date for Snooki & Jwoww on January 8 at 10p. Produced by 495 Productions, the banner behind Jersey Shore, the series returns with 12-episode which expands to a one-hour format and moves to Tuesday nights. The new season follows BFF’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWOWW” Farley and explores the bond that holds the friends together.

HBO is working with Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films on an untitled one-hour drama about a rich academic who has become the first black president of a prestigious liberal arts college. The new president and his family are put into the national spotlight, forcing them to present an ideal public image while struggling with personal battles and dark secrets. Thomas Bradshaw is involved to write and be co-EP along with Winfrey and Harpo’s Kate Forte who will serve as EPs.

Showtime’s dramedy Nurse Jackie tapped Adam Ferrera (Rescue Me) for the fifth season to play a love interest of Nurse Jackie (Edie Falco). Ferrera’s character is an NYPD officer and will recur throughout the season. Morris Chestnut also joins the series playing a former Army medic who is hired as a trauma doctor. Showtime will premiere the fifth season of Nurse Jackie in early 2013.
