Based on Nielsen’s Special Ordered Fast National Live + Same Day Ratings, ABC’s Sunday telecast of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards drew an average audience of 13.2 million viewers and a 3.8 rating among A18-49. The awards were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and were up year to year by +6% in viewers compared to the 2011 telecast on FOX. Elsewhere, E!’s Live from the Red Carpet: The 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic airing from 6-8p averaged more than 1.5 million total viewers. E!’s results bested last year’s performance by +5% and pulled in the best Total Viewers performance in six years.

This Friday at 10p, MTV2 debuts new series numbNuts, a stunt competition game show series hosted by comedian Jeff Dye and from Fear Factor producer David A. Hurwitz. The launch of this new program follows the seventh season premiere of the Bellator Fighting Championships at 8p.

FOX Television Stations picked up talk show Bethenny for 2013. This news follows the six-week test last summer on select FOX-owned stations. The one-hour daily talk show, hosted by Bethenny Frankel and executive produced by Frankel and Ellen DeGeneres first debuted in June 2012 as a six-week test on FOX-owned stations in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, Phoenix and Minneapolis. Bethenny will launch on 17 FOX-owned stations including WNYW/New York, KTTV/Los Angeles, WFLD/Chicago, WTXF/Philadelphia, KDFW/Dallas, WFXT/Boston, WAGA/Atlanta, WTTG/Washington DC, KRIV/Houston, WJBK/Detroit, KSAZ/Phoenix, WTVT/Tampa, KMSP/Minneapolis, WOFL/Orlando, WHBQ/Memphis, KTBC/Austin and WOGX/Ocala. Bethenny will be produced by TelepicturesProductions and Ellen DeGeneres’ production company, A Very Good Production.

Veteran producer and director Garry Marshall (Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy) is looking to return to television by selling a comedy project to FOX. Marshall and his son, Scott Marshall will write and serve as EPs on Golden Guys which was granted a script order from FOX. 20th Television and Prospect Park are producing the comedy about a down-on-his-luck guy who must move back in with his family after he loses his fortunes in a scam.

Willie Geist will likely become the permanent co-host of the 9a hour of NBC’s Today with Natalie Morales. If this comes to fruition, Geist will give up his early morning MSNBC show Way Too Early though he is expected to stay on Morning Joe.
