Fox slates pop star Carly Rae Jepsen to perform her new single The Kiss on the finale of So You Think You Can Dance tonight at 8 p. Jepsen rose to fame this summer with her hit single Call Me Maybe that spent nine weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 charts and spawned many viral video lip synchs. The show’s two-hour season finale will include the top four finalists and the naming of the winners.

Showtime’s Weeds caps its eight-season run with a ratings high. The final episode of the show on Sunday night delivered 864,000 viewers at 10 p and 1.28 million for the night, Showtime says. That was up 7% for the season eight premiere and 55% over the finale of last season. The show has been averaging 3.2 million total viewers across all platforms this season, the network says.

NBC nabs Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky for a recurring role on the second season of Smash, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Blonsky joins a growing cast of Broadway and film stars tapped for the second season, including the recently announced Jesse Martin, best known for his work in the original cast of Rent, as well as Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson.

Lifetime casts Patrick Heusinger in its pilot Witches of East End. He’ll play the male lead in the drama, according to several published reports. He has previously appeared on Gossip Girl and Royal Pains. In the Lifetime show, he stars opposite Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Julia Ormond.

BBC America taps Tatiana Maslany to helm the cast of its original sci-fi drama Orphan Black about genetic clones. Maslany is best known for her starring role in Picture Day and for playing opposite Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams in The Vow. Shooting begins in October; Orphan Black is produced by Temple Street Productions.
