Making it official, FOX has completed its judges panel for American Idol, when the show debuts its 12th season next January. Previously named judge Mariah Carey and returning judge Randy Jackson will be joined by two new judges: singer, songwriter, rapper and fashionista, Nicki Minaj and four-time Grammy Award winner and country superstar Keith Urban. Minaj and Urban along with Carey, Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest participated in the auditions that kicked off this past weekend in New York City. Other upcoming audition cities include Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte, San Antonio, Baton Rouge and Oklahoma City. A third season of Food Network’s competition series Sweet Genius debuts October 18 at 10p. Each episode watches as four American pastry chefs battle through three rounds of challenges judge by world-famous cake decorator, Chef Ron Ben-Israel. The final winner takes on the title of Sweet Genius as well as a $10,000 cash prize.

The 23rd installment of MTV’s The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons bows this Wednesday at 10p with a 90-minute episode. The new season features 28 past housemates from the Real World seasons Austin, Brooklyn, both Las Vegas seasons (combined into one team), Cancun, New Orleans, San Diego and St. Thomas who’ll battle it out for the crown and the largest prize in the series’ history at $350,000. TJ Lavin hosts the series and the new season takes place in Bodrum, Turkey. The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons was created for MTV by Bunim/Murray Productions.

This week, a new online comedy series, Suit Up premieres exclusively on Yahoo!. The scripted comedy series is about a crisis expert (Marc Evan Jackson) as he manages a college athletic department steeped in scandal. The eight episodes are available live now via Yahoo! A&E Network’s upcoming series Bates Motel has cast Freddie Highmore as the young Norman and Max Thieriot as his older brother. The series is from Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin and will focus on the backstory of Norman Bates that made him into a serial killer. Vera Farmiga was previously cast as Norman’s mother, Norma.
