Veteran film actress, Ann Rutherford died Monday in Beverly Hills at the age of 94. Ms. Rutherford had memorable roles in some of Hollywood’s most iconic films including Gone with the Wind (1939) playing Scarlett O’Hara’s younger sister, Pride and Prejudice (1940), Adventures of Don Juan (1948) as well as the earlier Andy Hardy movie series playing Polly Benedict, Mickey Rooney’s girlfriend. By the end of the 1940s, Ms. Rutherford retired from movie-making to raise a family. She came out of retirement in the 1970s to appear in a few more movies and was also known for her role in the TV series The Bob Newhart Show playing Suzanne Pleshette’s mother.
