Chef, author and TV personality Anthony Bourdain will have a new weekend show on CNN beginning early 2013. The show, according to CNN, will create “a signature showcase for the network’s coverage of food and travel.” Bourdain’s new program will air on Sundays in primetime on CNN and CNN International with encore airings on Saturday nights. Shot on location, the program will spotlight cultures around the world through their food, dining and rituals. Bourdain will further offer commentary for other CNN programs and platforms. Zero to Zero Productions, behind Bourdain’s other Travel Channel series The Layover and Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations is behind the upcoming CNN series.

For its next season, HBO selected the Miami Dolphins as the focus for its reality series Hard Knocks, set to premiere a seventh season on August 7. Hard Knocks offers a behind-the-scenes look at an NFL team during its pre-season training camp. Hard Knocks will air on Tuesdays this forthcoming season on HBO.

HISTORY’s miniseries Hatfields & McCoys, starring Kevin Costner, Bill Paxton, Mare Winningham, Powers Boothe and Tom Berenger among others debuted on Monday Memorial Day and finishes tonight at 9p, has become the #1 non-sports telecast in ad-supported cable television history. HISTORY tallied more than 13.9 million total viewers; 5.8 million with A25-54; and 4.8 million among A18-49 for the miniseries’ debut on Monday, based on Nielsen’s fast cable ratings. More than 17 million watched both the premiere and encore telecast Monday night. Hatfields & McCoys is produced for HISTORY by Thinkfactory Media.

NBC approved a new singing game show, The Winner Is where contestants will compete before an in-studio panel. The singers, some soloists and groups including kids, teens, adults, seniors, families and professionals will have to figure out if they should negotiate a cash prize and step out of the competition or continue in the game. If the contestants continue, they await the jury results to see if they made it to the next round and closer to the $1 million in prize money. Talpa Media USA and John de Mol, creator of The Voice, who will serve as EP on the project, are behind The Winner Is.

Female-targeted cable network, Lifetime is developing a drama series centered on the character Clarice Starling from the 1991 horror film The Silence of the Lambs. MGM is producing the project and the plot will start soon after a young Starling graduates from the FBI Academy. NBC also has the new 13-episode series, Hannibal in the works also based on the film, a project NBC ordered straight to series.

Chris Noth (Sex and the City, The Good Wife) will narrate the first season of I Didn’t Do It, a six-part, one-hour crime series that reveals the stories behind wrongful convictions. The series is in production for Discovery Channel Canada and Investigation Discovery US. The series will premiere on Discovery Channel Canada this summer and in the US on Investigation Discovery in the fall. I Didn’t Do It is from Lively Media.
