A one-hour extension of ABC News’ Good Morning America titled Good Afternoon America will begin airing for a nine-week run starting July 9 at 2p. Anchors for the program will be GMA’s Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer with Sam Champion, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos making special appearances. Good Afternoon America will highlight celebrities, performances, pop-culture news as well as original entertainment, lifestyle, health and workplace and consumer reporting. Good Afternoon America will be taped at GMA’s studio New York City’s Times Square.

CBS ordered a new season of comedy Rules of Engagement starring David Spade and Patrick Warburton. The new season will have 13 episodes and will serve as a mid-season replacement series. During this season, Rules of Engagement has averaged a 3.3/9 rating/share among A18-49 and 10.2 million total viewers.

This Thursday, Univision Network premieres a new novela titled Un Refugio Para el Amor (A Shelter for Love) starring Zuria Vega and Gabriel Soto as a couple divided by class differences and rivalries though can’t resist surrendering to their feelings. Summer premiere dates for a trio of series on AMC have been released. The part one debut of the final season of Breaking Bad opens July 15 at 10p. The final season of Breaking Bad consists of 16 episodes with the first eight eps airing this summer and the latter eight scheduled for summer 2013. Breaking Bad is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Also on July 15, AMC premieres its newest unscripted series Small Town Security at 11p centered on a small, family-run private security company located in rural Georgia. The first season of Small Town Security has eight half-hour episodes produced by Left/Right. The season two premiere of epic western Hell on Wheels is back starting August 12 at 9p. The second season of Hell on Wheels has 10 one-hour episodes executive produced by Endemol USA with Entertainment One (eOne) serving as the studio.

WE tv revealed summer premiere dates for several of its original series. New series L.A. Hair debuts May 31 at 10p then moves to its regular time slot of 10p on June 7. Another new series, Kendra on Top launches June 5 at 10p. A ninth season of Bridezillas opens June 10 at 10p and six new episodes of Braxton Family Values debuts August 16 at 9p.

In honor of Black Music Month, TV One is marking the celebration by calling it Our Music Month with concerts, movies and specials that acknowledge the contributions made by African-American artists to America’s music industry. In addition, TV One is bringing back the first of eight all-new episodes of its series Unsung on June 25 at 9p. The series opens with a look at the ’60s and ’70s funk and soul group Sly and the Family Stone.
