Midseason comedy Best Friends Forever has been canceled by NBC. The series debuted in early April accumulating 4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the A18-49 demo though since then the ratings have declined. In its place, NBC will air a new episode of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers in the 830p Wednesday slot. The network has not stated when it will air the two remaining episodes of Best Friends Forever.

NBC also has moved the third season finale of Community up a week to May 17 to air during May sweeps and also added another Community episode to make it a double episode ending, cites Futon Critic. The lineup on May 17 will include Community at 8p; 30 Rock season finale at 830p; followed by back-to-back Community episodes with the season finale at 930p. This shift also moves the first season finale of drama Awake to air on May 24, the night after May sweeps concludes.

Paranormal drama Fringe received a final season order from FOX. Produced by Warner Bros. Television, Fringe will have 13 episodes for its last season taking the series’ library of episodes to 87.

Bravo’s series premiere of Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding last Thursday attracted 1.4 million total viewers and 691,000 with A18-49 for its 9p episode and the second new episode at 930p delivered 1.7 million total viewers and 865,000 with A18-49. The series, produced by True Entertainment for Bravo, airs on Thursdays at 930p.

Beginning May 1, Nick at Nite adds Yes, Dear to its lineup airing Monday through Friday at 11p. Nick at Nite has the complete 122-episode library of the comedy distributed by Twentieth Television. Yes, Dear originally aired on CBS from 2000-2006.

NBCUniversal and Ryan Seacrest have made a new two-year multi-platform deal involving on-air, broadcasting and producing projects across the networks NBC and E!. The agreement extends Seacrest’s present on-air duties with E! to now include NBC. Seacrest will become a special correspondent for NBC News’ TODAY and he will contribute to NBC primetime news as well as produce and contribute to NBC entertainment programs. Seacrest will additionally contribute to NBC’s primetime coverage of the Olympics starting with the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Furthermore, Seacrest will remain with E! as Managing Editor of E! News and will continue to host and produce E!’s Live from the Red Carpet specials.
