In late May, FOX rolls out three summer series premieres: So You Think You Can Dance opens a ninth season with a two-hour premiere on May 24 at 8p before moving to its regular time slot of Wednesdays at 8p the following week on May 30. Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen is back with a tenth season beginning May 29 at 8p followed by the third season debut of MasterChef at 9p. MasterChef will expand to air two episodes each week on Mondays at 9p and Tuesdays at 8p starting June 4. The series launch of Ramsay’s newest series Hotel Hell also bows June 4 at 8p.

This summer TV Guide Network has plans to premiere two new comedy series: StandUp In Stilettos is a new series hosted by Kate Flannery with each episode featuring three stand-up comediennes whose acts are written for women. Production on the show begins in late April and will be shot in front of a live audience at a comedy club. TV Guide Network debuts StandUp Stilettos June 16 at 10p with 10 half-hour episodes produced by the network. The second series, Rove LA is a talk show hailing from Australia and hosted by comedian Rove McManus which premieres on TV Guide Network July 21 at 10p. Currently airing on cable channel FOX8 in Australia, Rove LA is a one-hour weekly talk show featuring Rove interviewing some of Hollywood’s most well-known stars such as Justin Timberlake, Hugh Jackman, Eva Longoria, Pink, Lisa Kudrow and more. TV Guide Network will air ten episodes yet to be seen in the US and the network will also air 13 all-new episodes of Rove LA which will begin taping in September. Rove LA is produced by Roving Enterprises and Avalon Television for FOX8.

FX ordered a new six-episode weekly late-night series executive produced by comedian Chris Rock and hosted by stand-up comedian W. Kamau Bell. The half-hour series titled for now, Untitled Chris Rock/W. Kamau Bell Late Night Show debuts this summer. The focus of the series will involve politics, pop culture, race, religion, the media and sex. The series is from FX Productions with Chris Rock, Chuck Sklar and W. Kamau Bell serving as Executive Producers. The exact premiere date has not been set.

Rosario Dawson and Gale Anne Hurd are partnering to develop a drama project titled O.C.T. for A&E Network, per THR. O.C.T. is an acronym for the NYPD’s Occult Crimes Taskforce and the project is based on a graphic novel co-created by Dawson and David Atchison. The scripted drama will go inside the task force which was established after the Civil War to rid the streets of NYC from black magic practitioners, demons and other supernatural beings. The plot will focus on new recruit Sophia Ortiz, who uses magic, spells, ghosts and the undead in the ongoing war between the demon forces attempting to take over Manhattan. Dawson and Hurd will serve as EPs and Jorge Zamacona is penning the script and will also produce. Atchison, Ford Gilmore and Tony Shasteen, the graphic novel’s illustrator will join the team as producers.

Laz Alonso (Breakout Kings) landed the male lead role in NBC’s Notorious, a soap series about a detective who goes undercover within a rich family she knew as a child. Alonso will star as a NYPD detective opposite the previously cast Meagan Good.

Independent producer and distributor, Entertainment Studios, Inc. announced the cast for its upcoming new sitcom, The First Family which premieres this fall. Entertainment Studios ordered 104 episodes of The First Family, a comedy about an African-American family living in the White House. Production on the pilot episode is now complete featuring Christopher B. Duncan playing President William Johnson. The cast also includes Kellita Smith as First Lady Katherine Johnson; Jackee Harry as Pauletta, the First Lady’s sister; John Witherspoon as Grandpa Alvin, the President’s father; Gladys Knight as Grandma Carolyn, the President’s mother; Marla Gibbs as Grandma Eddy, the First Lady’s mother; and Michael D. Roberts as Bernard, the White House Butler among other cast members. Production will resume this summer for the comedy’s fall debut.
