Canadian hospital drama Saving Hope is joining NBC’s schedule this summer. NBC ordered 13 episodes of the drama starring Erica Durance and Michael Shanks. Production begins in Toronto on March 12. Saving Hope also launches this summer on Canadian broadcaster CTV as well as NBC. The drama is produced by Ilana C Frank Films with Entertainment One, in association with CTV and NBC. Entertainment One will deficit finance Saving Hope in addition to handling the international distribution across all media including television, DVD/Blu-ray, VOD and digital.

Beginning next Monday, morning show Fox & Friends on Fox News Channel (FNC) will expand earlier by an extra hour. Fox & Friends will now air live between 5a and 6a with the name Fox & Friends First. The show’s fourth hour will be anchored by rotating FNC personalities including Heather Childers, Dave Briggs, Ainsley Earhardt and Heather Nauert among others. This new hour of Fox & Friends First will replace the repeats presently airing in the time period.

New original adventure culinary competition series No Kitchen Required debuts on BBC America April 3 at 10p. The series follows three professional chefs as they are dropped in remote locales where they must work with the locals to hunt and fish as well as forage for ingredients to cook meals that will be judged by the communities. The three chefs are New York restaurateur Michael Psilakis, first ever Chopped Grand Champion chef Madison Cowan and elite personal chef and New Zealander Kayne Raymond. The threesome will be dropped in ten locations worldwide including Dominica, New Zealand, Belize, Fiji, Chiang Dao Thailand, Koh Lanta Thailand, Hawaii, New Mexico, Louisiana and Florida. No Kitchen Required is hosted by British personality Dr. Shini Somara who also joins the chefs on their adventures. The series is a Notional production for BBC America.

CBS’ comedy pilot from Will & Grace creators, David Kohan and Max Mutchnick is close to finalizing a deal with David Krumholtz to play opposite Michael Urie in Partners. The comedy is about two architects Charlie (Krumholtz) who is straight and Louis (Urie) who is gay and whose friendship has lasted longer than their other romantic relationships. Charlie ends up proposing to his girlfriend (Sophia Bush) which makes Louis neurotic in his attempts at being supportive.

Stand-up comedian-turned-actor Dane Cook is joining NBC’s comedy pilot titled Next Caller Please. The single-camera series is about Cam Doherty (Cook), a brash alpha male DJ and his feminist co-host set in the office of a satellite radio station. Collette Wolfe has been cast as his co-host Stella and Joy Osmanski will play Winnie, Stella’s producer.

Former The Cosby Show mom Phylicia Rashad landed a role in NBC’s drama pilot Do No Harm, the contemporary take on the Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde story. Rashad will play Dr. Vanessa Young, the chief of surgery and boss of Jeffrey Kohl (Steven Pasquale), a brilliant neurosurgeon who struggles with his dangerous alter-ego.
