Sunday’s live broadcast of the 84th Annual Academy Awards on ABC from 830-1124p drew in 39.3 million total viewers and delivered an 11.7 rating with A18-49 viewers. The 2012 Oscars mark ABC’s most-watched telecast in two years. Comparing the previous year’s telecast Sunday’s awards show attracted 1.4 million more viewers (39.3 million vs. 37.9 million). In addition, the seventh post-Oscar telecast of Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards on ABC, increased by +14% in total viewers (5.061 million vs. 4.453) and also saw a +8% increase among A18-49 (1.873 million vs. 1.738 million. Sunday’s JKL’s post-Oscar telecast was the most-watched ever.

On Saturdays in March, Documentary Channel will air a series of documentaries celebrating a woman’s perspective in Her Take. The collection of documentaries by female filmmakers include Pink Skies on March 3; The Price of Sex on March 10; The Heretics on March 17; Atomic Mom on March 24; and Love, Lust and Lies on March 31. These documentaries air at 8p each Saturday.

This morning between 7-10a, Telemundo will announce the finalists for the 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards presented by State Farm. The list of finalists will be broadcast in the network’s morning show Levantate. The 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards will take place in Miami on April 26 and will be produced by and broadcast live by Telemundo.

Late yesterday, NBC revealed James Spader will not be returning to The Office if a ninth season is ordered. Spader joined the comedy series after playing a two-scene role in the seventh season finale which turned into a full season role portraying the fictional company’s new chief executive, Robert California.

In The CW’s pilot The Carrie Diaries, the role of Carrie Bradshaw was handed to Anna Sophia Robb. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Candace Bushnell and the plot follows Carrie during her high school years in the 1980s in Manhattan. In addition, Ellen Wong and Katie Findlay have been cast to play Carrie’s friends in the pilot, according to Variety. Wong will play Jill “The Mouse” Thompson, Carrie’s smart and loyal best friend and Findlay will play Carrie’s oldest friend, Maggie Landers. The project is from Warner Bros. Television.

MTV has ordered a third edition of Teen Mom, the reality series that is a spinoff of the network’s 16 and Pregnant series. A fourth season of 16 and Pregnant debuts March 27 with back-to-back episodes and Teen Mom 3 is expected to feature four teens from the new edition. Teen Mom 2 recently ended its second run and will air reunion special tonight at 10p.

Former Breaking Bad villain, Giancarlo Esposito will star in J.J. Abrams’ drama pilot Revolution for NBC. Esposito will play Captain Neville, a tough military man who also possesses a genteel Southern manner and who may have an alternate personality. Warner Bros. Eva Amurri Martino, seen recently in Showtime’s Californication, landed a role in FOX’s drama pilot Guilty, cites THR. Amurri Martino will play Lily, an attorney who works closely with the as-yet-uncast attorney lead role in the project. The drama is from Warner Bros. Television, Bonanza Productions, Berlanti Productions and Wonderland Sound and Vision.
