Showtime has renewed its baseball docu-series The Franchise for a second season though the team to be featured has not yet been announced. During its first season the San Francisco Giants were spotlighted and over eight episodes the series averaged 651,000 viewers.

Sunday’s second season premiere of Downton Abbey on PBS averaged 4.2 million viewers according to Nielsen Fast National data. The second season debut exceeded the average for the season one premiere by +18% based on metered market averages. New episodes of Downton Abbey continue on PBS Sundays through February 19.

Making it official, The CW is picking up the original Canadian drama The L.A. Complex from Bell Media with six one-hour episodes. The drama is about six young performers pursuing careers in Hollywood while living in the same apartment-style motel for displaced dreamers. The CW will launch the US premiere of The L.A. Complex this spring while the series debuted in Canada via CTV and MuchMusic on Tuesday.

The strip is airing on stations from station groups including ABC Owned Television Stations, CBS Television Stations, Gannett Broadcasting, Cox Television, Meredith Broadcasting, Media General, Post-Newsweek, Hearst Television, Allbritton Communications, LIN Television Corporation, Scripps Media and more.
